In 1938 She was Snow White in the Grand Floral Parade

Back in 1938 when I was attending Grant high school, I was chosen to be Snow White in the Grand Floral Parade. I was told by the Dean of Women, whom I assisted, that I had been selected by the school.

I was then sent to town and was chosen from other girls from the other high schools. Then they made a beautiful costume which represented Snow White as she appeared in the movie and also fixed my hair.

The day of the parade started out cool and somewhat rainy, but then the sun came out and it was a beautiful day. The seven dwarves were children arranged in front, directly below me.

The crowd greeted us with clapping and yelling way up to the building tops. It was a very noisy welcome because the movie "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" had just come out.

I'll always remember it with a great deal of delight. By the way, the "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" float won first prize.
